Winifred Russell, a long-time member at West Lake Country Club, passed away at the age of 97 on April 12, 2025, in Augusta, Georgia.
Winnie, as she was known, participated in CSRA WGA events from the early 1970’s into the middle of the 2010’s. Winnie and Mark Darnell, the West Lake head professional at that time, were credited in 1975 with starting the Lady/Pro, which remains to this day an important part of the CSRA WGA calendar.
