Constitution

ARTICLE I

Section 1

The name of the organization shall be the Central Savannah River Area Women’s Golf Association.

Section 2

The purpose of the organization (hereinafter referred to as the Association) shall be to promote, coordinate, and standardize inter-club play among its membership.

Section 3 

This Association, having secured a Tax ID# (EIN), will operate in compliance with the 501(c)(7) (non-profit social/recreational club) IRS Guidelines.

ARTICLE II

Section 1

Membership in the Association shall be granted to any women’s golf association in the CSRA, upon application to and approval of the Board of Directors. 

Section 2

Membership shall entitle the member club to participate in all Association events and representation on the board.

Section 3

Membership requirements shall be prescribed by the by-laws.  

Section 4

Membership will not be denied because of race, color, religion, or national origin.  

ARTICLE III

Section 1

The governing body of the Association shall be the Board of Directors, consisting of the officers of the Board, one representative from each member club, the Website Coordinator, and the following chairmen: Handicap and Memorial Cup, Montenyohl Championship, Publicity, Rules, Team Play and Tournament.

Section 2

Officers shall be elected from the Association members at large. The officers shall be elected at the last meeting of the year (October), to take office at the first meeting of the new year (February). They shall be as follows:  a) president, b) vice-president, c) secretary, and  d) treasurer.

Section 3

The duties of the board members shall be described in the Standard Operating Procedure manual.

Section 4

Selection of association representatives shall be left to the  discretion of the member club.

ARTICLE IV

Section 1

The Constitution may be amended by a majority vote of the members present at the regular meeting, provided the amendment was submitted at the previous regular meeting.

Section 2

The call of the meeting shall include the proposed amendments.
